Extent of divide
There are many different factors of the social divide these consist of how much income the person makes so if they are making less than they are less likely to have technological devices to provide for themselves and their family the same would go for single parent families and this is actually quite a wide extent in the UK as there are more than a million children who have lack of access to computers at home. Also racial/ethnic groups affect the extent of the divide this is because their home lives may be different to that of others for example if someone was brought up in a family which was highly religious their lives would probably be surrounded keeping their religion the first and top priority and everything else would come later in this case the use of technology. Age groups and disabilities also play a part in this divide although disabilities doesn't really affect much of the divide because there is no report in an increase of people with disabilities but nevertheless people who do have them are less likely to use technologies such as laptops, computers or even smart phones causing some extent of widening this divide, age and lack of education is also something that affects this divide because the younger generation are using more technology whereas the older generation are not so keen on using these devices as they may not know how to.
